505 - Use Your Disillusion

"Dawson's Creek is weird, OK?!"

We're SAD! Everyone's relationships keep falling apart! Everyone is stressed this episode! We're stressed for them! Except Professor Wilder has a cool project going on and Audrey got glittery lipstick, so I guess those are wins for them...

  1. in re: episode title. I assumed it was a play on the Guns'n'Roses 1991 album title 'Use your Illusion" (it's a line from a track on the album, 'Locomotive': You can use you illusion- Let it take you where it may. We live and learn.) If it's not that, I got nothing.

    1. That's a great explanation! Although why not just call the episode Live and Learn?

  2. Like yourselves, I was also under the impression that Tim McPhee was an athlete. In season two, Andie says Tim taught her how far it is from the pitcher's mound to home plate and that he tried to teach her to throw a curve ball. The car accident that killed him happened on the way home from the homecoming game between Columbia (Tim's school) and Cornell. If the whole family attended the game and the tailgate, it's feasible they were there to see Tim play, not just to hang out and show school spirit.

  3. 100% agree that Pacey needs decent male role models in his life, but let’s not forget that Doug pulled a gun on Pacey in season 1, and that he spends equal amounts of time tearing Pacey down and building Pacey up. It’s not a terrible relationship, but I wouldn’t consider Doug to be all that great of a role model for Pacey either.

    Poor Pacey.
